Grants and Funding

Grants and community partnerships play an important role in helping the North Country Community Recreation Center grow, improve, and serve our region. Funding from public agencies, foundations, organizations, and local partners supports projects ranging from facility improvements and recreation programs to accessibility, safety, and long-term community development.

Grants

The North Country Community Recreation Center is supported by a diverse network of public, private, and community funding sources. Together, these investments help advance the Center’s development and strengthen its ability to serve residents and visitors throughout the North Country.

HUD
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development

NCCRC was awarded 2.7 million dollars for remodeling and adding on to the existing building. This will reopen the pool as it was and add approximately eight thousand square feet. The addition will have three offices for rental spaces, a sports room big enough for pickleball or half court basketball. Also in this space there will be a small fitness gym, walking path, golf simulator and a small coffee, juice bar. This grant has been awarded and we have hired a construction manager to proceed with this project. Project goal is to open by December, 2027.

NBRC
Northern Border Regional Commission

NCCRC was awarded one million dollars from NBRC to put a metal structure and roof over the existing skating rink. This structure will be approximately 120 feet wide and 240 feet long. This will allow NCCRC to hold events to raise money for operational cost and long term maintenance at the property. We will be drawing money off this grant in the near future to start engineering of concrete needs and going out to bid for ground, concrete and the building. The goal of this project is to be up and using this by fall of 2027.

CDFA
New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority

NCCRC was awarded two-hundred sixty four thousand dollars for a match to our NBRC grant.

Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund

NCCRC has just filed for fifty thousand dollars a year for the next three years from the Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund to fund an executive director for the rec center. This will allow the new director to be hired by approximately Jan of 2027.

Donations

The generosity of individuals, families, businesses, and community partners provides important support for the Recreation Center and its mission.

Endowment Fund

It is the long term goal of the NCCRC Board of Directors to establish an endowment fund that will keep Long-term financial support. The Recreation Center’s endowment will help strengthen the organization’s sustainability like long term maintenance and its ability to serve future generations.
